This self portrait is from a study of light and shadows from a class I took taught by Linda Greenberg, this past year at Antelope Valley College. She had us tape a 5''x7'' mirror on the wall at eye level while seated. We drew on our drawing boards placed on our knees with the top of the board leaning against the wall. She had us set up lights on one side to create the light side. We started by setting a dark ground, then erasing the light, then hours were spent shading. It was a fun 5 hour evening class, and time flies by when I'm drawing. It was kind of interesting drawing with the board on my knees, I usually draw on a flat table. I think if I get a portable adjustable drafting table it might help my back pain and improve my posture while drawing by mouth. Linda was an amazing teacher so filled with positive energy, her passion for art is infectious. Thanks for the comment Anne hope I wasn't to long winded.
